Link Visio to Access

I have already linked Visio to Access but when I drag and drop over a shave I have problems. For Dell shapes all the fields are populated under Shape Data window, but for the IBM shapes not all fields populate, although there is data there, such as the serial number does not show in the data shape window but it does exist in Access database. Also, what values format do I have to use for an IP Address to show?

Check the shape data for each type of shape. It may be that the IBM shapes do not have the same Shape Data fields as the other and Visio is not filling in the information.

If the shape data is missing, add the fields to the shape data of the master and see if that fixes the problem.

For the IP Address, I would just leave it as a text string.
