My links flyout has an image with no page number. It's not on the pasteboard and I can't find any instance of overset text where it could be hiding. Nothing happens when I select go to link. The image has been modified and will not update, so I am constantly getting the fix dialog box. I simply want to delete the image, but I cannot find it to do it. Is there any other way to delete this file or link, or at least find it?

Do you know what the image consists of? You might try links window/Edit original. If that's possible, you might remember the pafe you used it on. Then zoo out and Select All to see if a mysterious object shows on that page.

Another thing is to preflight and package. See what warnings you get.

This image is actually a duplicate of one I am already using. The original image gives me no errors or problems. When I click Edit Original on the duplicate it take me to the lastest version of the original image. However, I still can't update it. I tried the Select All trick around my original image to find this duplicate to no avail. In fact, the select all covered about 20 pages of this section with no results. I'm stumped, any other ideas?

Does Link Information give you the same info about both - like its location on your computer? If no, you could go to the bad image and deleted it from the computer, or just move it.

by teh way, if you'll be pdfing this, you probably have no worry. If it's going to the printer and your local proof is okay, you also won't have a problem.

Same info for both files. I will be distributing as a pdf, I have already done a few exports without a hitch. This really hasn't caused me any issues with quality, I'm just tired of getting the warnings and I can't figure out how to fix the problem.

Here's what I've done when I've had this problem: Select the image name in the Links palette, then relink the graphic to a new graphic. Then do "go to link" and it should jump right to it. Good luck

It won't let me relink it. I can run through all the steps to relink the file but it never saves the change, it stays linked to the original file. Could this be a bug?

Yes, this is a bug.

It is nothing to worry about as noted earlier. If you are determined to get rid of it, consider exporting the document as INX, open the INX file in a plain text editor, remove the reference, then reopen the INX file in InDesign.

You might also try dragging page content from your buggy document to a new document.

That sounds like way to much work for an annoyance. I guess I'll just have to live with it. If I'm feeling really determined I may have to try that jimoblak. Thanks everyone for all the help.
