Hi all,
I can't get working link (A HREF tag) pointing to html file on network mapped disk (on Netware server). I checked RFC about URL specification and I tried unnumbered variation of this:

<a href=&quot;URL:file:///Fs1/V/intranet/something.htm&quot;>link</a>
but none of that works in Mozilla 0.9.4.,

this works in NN 4.5 and IE 5.5:
<a href=file:///V:/intranet/something.htm> but not in Mozilla.

Does someone has working link to local or network file system in Mozilla or Mozilla dont support it?

Thanks for any information.

A. Mikulic

PS. I need it for link some htm documents only for people with acces to the novell network disk, i use apache as intranet web server...

Code:
[b]<a href=&quot;file:///V:/intranet/something.htm&quot;>[/b]
- this should work. what is the error you get?

:)

-this works in NN 4.5, in IE 5.5 but not in Mozilla 0.9.3-4
-it gives no error message, when i click the link nothing happen
-if it's with &quot;URL:&quot; <a href=&quot;URL:file:///V:/intranet/something.htm&quot;> its doing something - I get 404 not found
-its really strange (I tried many variations of that tag), I'm starting to think its not supported feature of Mozilla (???)

thanks
A.M.

thanks, i'll try it, now I'm in hurry (its friday late afternoon here). if i will not reply here, its OK and working....
:)

Unfortunately, after i installed the latest build of Mozilla, it still don't work. This type of links work from local opened html file, but don't work from html files loaded from web server (apache). Its bug in Mozilla.

what do you mean from apache? i thought you were trying to open the files localy, without a webserver. i'm a little lost :)
anyway,if you believe there's a bug in mozilla go to and report it.

:)

adm,

Did you ever figure this out? I also cannot point to a file on another server [a regular file server] from a web server. This appears to be a bug in Mozilla---related to bug 70871.

Hi,

I came across the same problem ... I can click on links when a local html file is opened in Mozilla, but if the same html file is served from a web server, then clicking on the link does nothing in Mozilla.

It works fine with IE, Opera or Netscape 4.7x.

It looks like this is a known issue (&quot;security feature&quot;) of Mozilla - see # 84128 and # 122022 for lots of debate on the subject.
