hi together,

i would like to insert a link in a quicktime movie (unvisibal link, textlink or an extra buton).
i do have a 360° panorama view and when someone klicks on a door the next panorama showing the next room should be opened.

with golive i could create a textlink but this is not related to a special position (door).
on the quicktime developer side i found "plug-in helper" but with this tool you can only create a link to which is related to the whole movie.
links would be possible for parts but to do this you have to devide the movie into several tracks. does anybody knew how to devide a movie into several tracks?

in advance thank you very much for some help

regards

Not sure I fully understand what you're asking about, so please excuse me if this is off base. What you're asking about sounds like basic QTVR linking. You need a tool to create multiple nodes within a QTVR scene that can contain as many pano's and object movies as you like. With a tool like Apple's QTVR Authoring Studio ( or VRWorx ( you simply draw "hotspots" on your pano image, and then tell it how you want that hotspot to behave - link to another pano, link to an object movie, link to a URL, or custom link which can be interpreted by an authoring environment like Macromedia Director to do something custom (like play a linear QT movie, or display a pop-up window, or whatever). If you're looking for something to be a text link, you could always paint the text on your stitched-together PICT image from which the pano is made, and then make that text a hotspot in the VR authoring app.

Despite its age (1997), I still like Apple's QTVR Authoring Studio for most situations - does most everything I need and simply. But VRWorx is the modern, industrial strength app - they have a downloadable demo on their site. RealViz's Stitcher ( is also a fine tool - does a superb job of stitching images, and knows about all the varieties of VR's (cubic, cylindrical, etc.). It includes a hotspot tool, but not a scene-building tool. They also have a demo on their site.

Good luck!

I know exactly what your trying to do. Im trying to do the same thing. I can create a 360 mov file, say from ulead 360. Lets say that 360 file is of a room in a building. I want a "hot spot" on the door and when the user clicks on the door I want it to bring up another 360 mov file which would be the vr scene of the room on the other side of the door. I just found one reference so far that might be helpful, but i havnt looked at it closely yet. It seems pretty convoluted and I dont think I'm desparate enough yet to try it.

If you find any interesting information, please post it back here, and Ill do the same.

thanks
