Hi,

I have been having a headache over this. I'm trying to create a text link to a web site from my flash intro. I first typed in the domain name as the text, convert it to a button (symbol). Then changed the button up, over, down, and hit behavior. Then I put the code

on (release) {
getURL("}

When I select Control > Enable simple buttons from the menu bar and put my mouse over the text, it works. However, when I test the movie it doesn't. The text link just act like a normal text. I can't figure out how to fix this and my head is about to explode. Please help.

Thanks,

Did you put the on (release) code in the frame, or the button? If it's on the frame, it won't work - must be on the button.

There's always a better way. The fun is trying to find it!

oldnewbie... what error message would he receive? I've been caught by this a couple of times and never received any errors???

Thanks for your suggestions. It turns out that the text that I converted to a button was a dynamic type. I changed it to static and it works!

Happy Ending :)
