I need to be able to create new tables in Access 2000 that link to tables in a Foxpro 2.5 database. I have seen it done via an ODBC() link but I don't know how it was accomplished.

I want to be able to query the Foxpro 2.5 tables without running the risk of changing the original data, if that is doable.

The problem appears to be that Access 2K doesn't support 16 bit DSNs and doesn't support older versions of Foxpro.

I have no problem linking from Access 97, but my users don't have Access 97 available to them and the data is too easy to affect.

Download the VFP ODBC Drivers. I think you can get them from msdn.microsoft.com/vfoxpro. They are 32 bit drivers that will read all legacy Foxpro tables. They are also considerably faster than the old 16 bit drivers.
