I'm having trouble figuring out how to make the following link between 2 tables. Table1 has a field with date/time format and Table2 has a field with date format. I want to link the Date portion of Table 1 with the date in table 2. any help would be appreciated

Can you give a bit more insight into the end result..there may be an easier way to do what you want. Have you established a relationship between the two tables.

Table1 is a database created by my Accounting program. It puts a date/time for each transaction. Table 2 contains data i have created according to date. (like seasons, week number, physical year, special time frames for my buisness). My goal is to link this info to Excel and to use it's Crosstab features. I've been succsesful so far but I had to create a link file between them, which I have to go into MS access and run update. Would like to have live info going to Excel.

To build the link table, I use an append query from Table1, and make an expresion field
Date: Int([Table1]![TransDate])
I then update my link table. Since the link table's field is of the date type it puts the correct date in the table.
If I use a select query it returns a numeric value for the date.
