We just upgraded an Option 61C from version 23.11 to Succession 4.0. However some analog phones seem to be having some problem with the "link" button. Is there anything "special" that needs to be confugured for the link button to work. I did check the old programming, but everything seems to be fine.

trunk hook flash denied may be causing a problem, but not station to station. one more place to check

Were both sets tested on the same card? What type of Analog card is it? At one time there used to be an NT8D03, this card did not allow msg lamp on 500 sets.

I was already testing with 2 phones on different cards. There is just 1 loop here.

The phdt is set to 60.

In which load do I check my patch level?

This is a printout of one of the sets from the old system, before the upgrade:

ok here is what I get:

version 3221
Release 4
Issue 00 T
Idle set Display (Company's name)
System has no in service dep lists

system has no user selected peps in service

Loadware version: PSWV 111
Installed loadware peps: 0

you need to have the patches loaded, nortel calls them peps, i can't beleive the vendor that did the upgrade did that. peps need to be installed at the time of upgrade and sometimes require a restart or ini.. (not usually) that's way the feature went away, i'm surprised your switch is working at all

Ok so do I need to contact my vendor about the patches?

How do I install them?

the vendor usually does that for you from pdt, but if you have them on a disk (not in a folder. you can use the mdcs command from ld 143 mdcs ? will give you the list of commands

Nortel changed the patch/deplist command from mdcs to mdp in 4.0. :)
