Hi Everyone,

I've been administering two BCMs at different location. I was able to figure out the basic procedures with help from the documentation and this site. Something I am not able to find/understand is how calls are handled from one BCM to another over a WAN. Both sites have access to the internet as well as a VPN between them over a different circuit. All internal network traffic runs on this VPN.

We have two sites, A and B. The system was installed and setup way before I started with the company. If I dial an existing extension from site A to site B, it works. If I create a new extension at site B, I am not able to ring that phone from site A.

We also have a Call Center configured and I am not able to find anything in the BCM that relates to the Call Center.

Any guidance would be a great help.

Did you copy settings from another working phone to your new phone?

Guides are on the BCM itself.
Call Center settings are in the Callpilot voicemail browser.

Your best to get in touch with a vendor it sounds like.

Thanks Curlycord,

We are waiting for a new phone system to be installed. But in the meantime, Im just trying to keep things running on this one.

Personally, I like these Nortel/Avaya IP phones. The end users complain that these phones are old and outdated but the new phone system is not really going to provide any new services that this system doesn't already offer. Some slick salesman convinced management that we needed new phones, so, they got new phones. lol

Thanks for your help, I will research further.

I forgot to mention about the DID's as each set needs to have their own DID (Target Line)
When one site calls the other it is looking at the received digits, make sure under Target Lines that you have programmed the new set it's own DID/TargetLine, looking at the Sets/XXX/LineAssignment and the Lines/TargetLines will provide clues.

Example: Target Line 1XX has it's received digits as 2331 (or 231) and is assigned to X2231

How does Server A know where Server B is located? I can't seem to find how they talk to each other or know about each other.

As you have created a new extension, then I'm guessing that the target line wasn't assigned to it to allow calls to reach it. Compare the settings with a working one and look in the private received digits.
