i'm using CR 8.0. I'm having trouble lining up labels with their associated database fields. I'm using Times Roman 8pt. Could it be that because I'm trying line the lable with the fields and I'm using a "proportional font" I'm having this problem? Is there a trick to doing this?

Are you using guidelines? You can switch them on under View for Crystal 8.5.

I've also had trouble with account numbers refusing to line up even with guidelines. The Crystal default is to assume that any number may be negative, and to show this by a leading minus sign. For a positive number, there will be a small gap in place of the minus sign.

For better alignment of account numbers etc., click the "Custom" button and in the "Negatives" box select "None". Or else convert the number to a string using ToText({Your.Account})

To line up labels and fields you will want to click on both then right click and choose ALIGN or SIZE.

Play around with this awhile and you will have everything lined up and even in no time.
