What line type is assigned to an Octel 250 when integarating with a Definity?

Well that depends on the type of flt card you are using in the Octel. Is it digital sets or analog?

The config notes are on the support site at avaya to guide you on setting up the PBX and the Octel.

Line type is 145.

It is 145 if you are using FLT-A's but you can also use Flt-8's for inband or if you are using a voice bridge or PBX link

Thanks guys.
I work in a lab environment and I have 2 Octel's..1 for Avaya and the other for Nortel.
Is the software propietary or could I use 2 different cards to integrate with both systems by changing the line types?

The software is of course proprietary but that does not mean that you can't hook it to more than one system.

That said it would not be possible to hook th Octel 250 to more than one type of PBX at a time unless you were using a secondary integration device such as a PBX links or voice bridge unit.

The reasone that you can't is in menu 1-1 you must tell the system what type / kind of PBX it is hooked to and you can only twll it one type and not 2.

If you were using a PBX links you could set the Octel to a SMDI and hook it to more than one type of PBX.

You would then use analog stations from both PBX's and have a PBX links box for each.

It is also the way that you would separate the MWI for each PBX.
