Hello All
I am having a little trouble with a line sharing device that I have connected to line #2 of the partner ACS processor Rel 7.0. Sometimes the incoming fax still rings the phone system. I have connect them for years and have had little problems. I realize that there is a chance that the caller id signal could be a problem. Is that true?

I have set the ringing option for delayed ringing. I told the customer that there is a 90% chance that the incoming faxes will ring the phone system and when it does, I told her to press #11 and this will transfer it to the fax

Like I stated earlier the Line sharing device is on Line #2
Should the line sharing device be connected to the last line of the roll over?

Is there a programming procedure in the partner processor that I need to program?
I have had a few repeated reports from this customer
If they continue to have trouble, I will have tell them to go to a dedicated line which is a additional expense to them
Thank you for your help

I've used them with no problem on partner and ACS

what are you using ? Ive use the stick by multilink , great product .

the ring on the partner shouldnt matter if the device is working properly and installed correctly the call should never get to the partner .

the only partner issue I did encounter was with partner mail tha uses *2 for a directory , the stick uses *2 for fax transfer so anytime anyone tried to access the directory on that line they got the fax .

took awhile to find that one

Thanks for your prompt response
I am using Command switch 5500. Have you used this brand?
I heard " The Stick" is a great product.

I will review the connections again

I used to use their stuff years ago before the big box stores started selling it at my cost, made it hard to justify the markup

I sell the stick as a superior ,professional product compared to what the custormer can buy at office depot and it is they work flawsley compared to problems such as you describe which seemed common in the command line of product.

the teephone line should come from the telco to the line sharing device and then out to the phone on one port and fax on another if it is wired this way the switch should answer the call , listen for CNG tone . if it hears it it routes the call to the fax if not it passes it to the ACS on the phone port. the line sharing device routes the call first so the acs ring has nothing to do with it .

If the issue is that frequent as to annoy the customer, then they have too much traffic on the fax line to share it for voice.

You do not always get what you pay for, but you never get what you do not pay for.

Thank you aaernot,
That last sentence you said is so true. I will change my line sharing device equipment on my next project.

Thanks
