Hello,
I am using MF on UNIX SUN
I have as input a file that is compressed and sometimes has the 0D 0A Charecters in it
the input file is sequantial and I need to break the file to lines according to charecters I find in the line.
however when cobol reads the 0D 0A it handels it as end of lines and messes up my data.
I read regarding the EXTFH config file but I can not find it on my machine.
I really would appriciate help.
Dany.

I am not sure about MF cobol but if you define the file as sequential instead of line sequential, it should not interpret the 0D0A as end of line.

Hello,
the file has to be line sequantial
thanks,
Dany.

No, you can still define it as sequential and discard the 0D0A or deal with it however you wish. A sequential file can contain control characters.
