I recently installed a 4450 DSS on a 4424D+ phone. I connected the phone to port 17 on an 024 TDL card (to make it an operator) gave it extension# 101 and added it to the DLC operator position list (Merlin Magix is in hybrid/PBX mode.) This system already had a 4424LD+ console on port 1 at extension 100 with a 4450 DSS. The buttons lined up properly on all 3 pages but the line appearances don't light up when the extensions are busy on the new 4450. I can transfer, intercom, etc. with the DSS but no lights. What did I miss?

When you printed the Extension Info on 101, did the first line show the correct slot/port and 4424D + DSS?

Are you certain that your phone is indeed connected to port 17 of the 1st 024 TDL? (FEATURE 00)

Have you tried prgramming the phone on port 5 or 13 to see if it is possibly a port problem?

FRANKE - Yes it shows the DSS.

TGROSS - I see nothing in programming that says it shouldn't work.

HOWEVER, this looks like a 1.0 Magix.

I seem to remember an issue with 1.0 Magix and trying to implement a CONSOLE on something other than ports 1 & 5 early on.

I suggest moving what's in port 5 to port 17, move the Console (101) in 17 down to 5, renumbering as required, and see if that fixes it.

I may or may not be in touch with some Tier-3 folks in the next day or two, if I am, I'll see if they have my theory documented.

Moving the station to port 5 worked. Thanks, everybody, for the help.
