Line and Bar Graph Combined? 1

Hi

I am using Crystal 9.0 reporting from an Access 2002 database.

Is it possible to create a chart with one series of data as the bar graph and the other represented as a line graph?

For instance, I want to show discharge hour as the bar graph and admit hour as the line graph - is this possible?

Not sure what the chart set up is, but try adding hour as your first "on change of" field, and year as your second one. Then use average as your summary.

Thanks but the graph is a bar graph (with the admit hours changed to be a line) which means I can't have two values and two on change of events.

Any other options? Thanks.

I guess you could try creating the two groups in your main report--group #1 = hour, group #2 = year, and then use a formula for the average in the chart:

sum({table.field},{table.year})/count({table.field},{table.year})

Since the year group is nested within the hour group, this should work.

Sorry but I'm not following you: not sure what field you're summing versus counting.

What I did was create a group #1 on AllHour (which is a text field) and group #2 is Fiscal Year (which is a text field). I'm assuming I will be creating summaries of the count of the unique identifier?

I don't know what your summary is--if it's a count, then use count in the formula. You mention that these fields are text. I don't think it matters as long as you are formatting them to always show the same number of characters--e.g., hours should be 2 digits and fiscal year should be 4.
