Hi,

this site has optipoints with primary line on last button (key 12). 1 particular phone has ext 2291 as primary and an internal ext working as a roll-over for primary (ext 12291) so that when primary is busy, calls will land on key 11... problem is, while inbound calls to 2291 land on key 12 OK, 2nd calls will forward directly to voice mail... all the cfw settings for both ext's have been disabled and turned back on to pinpoint the problem... the moment cf is activated on busy to vm for 12291, calls will not land on key 11 as they should, but rather go straight to vm...

removing 12291 from the phone and re-adding doesn't clear the problem... also, internal calls to 12292 (with cfwd off) will not land on key 11 either... an egnineer took a look and deleted and re-added the programming for 2291 and 12291 and deactivated and reactivated the port for the phone and nothing... the display of the phone always reset once the programming changes were done, but calls to 12291 never worked... and calls to 2291 would always end up on vm... an attempt to use another internal ext 12213 (working on another phone) was added to the phone and this did not work either so the phone was changed out with a new optipoint 500 and nothing...

Can anyone help out?

Is this on a 4000??

I assume 12291 is a phantom (signed off) extension?

I have this happen to me in these cases by forgetting to put a checkmark in the "key system" box on the "12291" extension.

You also have to make sure on your phone X2291 on the standard key layout that you click on the 12291 button. Make sure the ring box is marked, and even though it is greyed out I suggest you click on the ringer box (probably twice) so you can set the ring tone and volume for the line. I usually use Ringer 2 at 4 for volume, so on the rollovers I use Ringer 1 at 2 for volume so it sounds different. Also on the Key System tab make sure Warning tone - busy is not set to None. I usually set it to Rollover Ring.

Also make sure you do not use type GEN for CFW on 12291 (unless it is SIP, then you may not have a choice). Make sure you build a separate CFW line for Busy IN, Busy EXT, RNA IN and RNA EXT as you desire. (on a real, working extension I also define DND because that will take care of things if the phone is unplugged).

If this is not a 4000, nevermind!)
