Limit View in Excel 1

I would like to know if it is possible to restrict or limit the viewable rows & columns to only those I want.

Background: I have generated an input sheet for users to enter the required data. This screen is sized to closely fill a single screen at 1024X768. I would like all extra columns to the right and all extra rows to the bottom not to be there or at least not scrollable. Bottomline can only navigate within the defined area.

Is there a method to accomplish this?

Hi rvnguy,
Don't know what version Excel you are using....

In 2002-2003 versions, you can protect the view of the worksheet and allow users to edit ranges.

Look up "protection" in help.

Thank You for replying. I have several versions of excel but generally use the lowest common denominator for items that are to be disbursed.

I have applied format > cells > protection > either hide or not & protection or not depending upon if the cell is an input cell or not. Then protect sheet and protect work book and this functions well.

My input sheet is represented in total by the range A1:I26.

I am looking to limit the viewable/scrollable area to that range. Not be able to see or scroll beyond the range of input cells.

Thanks Skip. I had tried to hide cells with no joy but overlooked hiding rows & columns.
This gained the exact outcome I was seeking.
Sometimes the answer is right in front of you but you just don't see it.
