Hello,

My boss has asked if we can limit all outgoing calls to 1 hour and 15 mins, i have had a look around and cannot see where i can add this info. We have an IP500 version 5.0 (22) using a PRI 30 line out can anybody help

We had a call open for 24 hours without anybody knowing which cost a bit so he wanted all calls outgoing capped

check the help file for short-code characters
t should do it for you.

do i put t and the number of minutes in brackets in the main ARS route replacing th . that is currently there ??

have you read the help file?

I have and it does not mention using t at all i came accross a site that had the short codes it says put t with minutes in brackets to set time. I just don't know where to put this i am going to test on an individual user in their own short codes to test

Go to your ARS tables.
Find your route you want to use (1N/0N/N, etc), and in the telephone number field, add a t(5)

So for example...
your 1N; Code would read...

code/tel/feature/line
1N;/ 1Nt(5) / Dial 3K1 / 0

This would limit the time on a long distance call to 5 minutes.

if you are using ARS that is the place to set it
if your short codes dial direct to a line then you will need it there instead.

BTW my earlier reply was not to be difficult , just trying to steer you down the route needed to find the information. I find that peoples knowledge increases faster this way.

Thats great thanks Austin,

I have one ARS which is called Main i presume this was the default one it is

code/tel/feature/line
?/./dial/0

I only have line group 0 so do i just add a new line to cut off calls after 1 hour 15 mins

code/tel/feature/line
0N/0Nt(75)/dial/0

I understand IPGuru its not a problem its all one big learning curve for me

no, on your main one you have there, change it to ?/.t(5)/dial/0

Thanks,

I can also see the same code setup in the shortcodes -

code/tel/feature/line?/./dial/0

do i edit this as well

jas0nh - perhaps your company would benefit from using a local business partner to maintain your switch?

jas0nh, yeah go ahead and edit that one as well. Should read the same as in the ARS.
