Hi,

Can anyone tell me if there is a limit on the number of files or sub-directories allowed in a folder in windows?

Thanks,

Aidan.

Aidan,

Bear in mind that even though NTFS has no limit, some applications do have a limit in how far they can "drill down".
For example, I believe that Explorer has a limit of 32 sub-directories. But I may be wrong.

The limit is on path depth, not number of folders.

Thanks guys.

I'm about to develop a document repository and this will let me go ahead without worrying that I will run out of space after only a few thousand entries.

Aidan.
