LIM interconnection Over IP

Hi Guys,

It's been quite some time since I was in the MD110 world and - due to a job change - I'm back again. I lost the MD thread some time in BC11 (with the beginning of MX-ONE), so I'm pretty much out of tune.

My current employer has several MD110's (more than 50 LIMs) with BC12+ and a pretty standard setup. We're thinking on evolving this architecture, to get rid of all the PCM links, etc. The question is:

* Has anyone got any experience with connecting the LIMs over IP, using IPLU and whatetever? Is it reliable?

* With that setup, do you still need the GS or can that be replaced by a routing table somewhere (e.g. in a specific LIM or in MX-ONE). Any experiences in this type of setup?

We have a LIM connected using RADIPMUX's, these were installed by our maintainer and we have been trying to connect some others using RADIPMUX's but with little success, se the RADMUX on TSW thread806-1558675 for more info

If you upgrade to MX-ONE you have several options:

- LIM on the Net (network connection between LIMS is needed)
call control signals and interlim signalling are server NIC traffic, voice RTP packets are IPLU traffic.

you can keep the GS (for example for local links) to add extra voice channels between the LIMS. But if you put one LIM on the network (so no more GS), you need an IPLU in EACH LIM so that this LIM is able to communicate with all other lims (voice traffic).

It's all a matter of network assesment (do I have enough bandwith? Network delays?, etc...)
