Going to have to add some phones and extensions soon to IP Office. Our users log in to their phones. In the mitel world we needed a license for extension. Is this the case with Avaya? Is there an extension license? I need to make sure I have enough, thanks!

Hello

Depends on what kind of extensions it is, if its a digital or analog extension you dont need license, but you need to make sure you have free ports, otherwise you need license. If its IP-phones you need a IP-endpoint license for each logged on phone.

While Avaya love a licence, they don't fleece you as much as Mitel, analogue and digital are unlicensed as mentioned :)

@ amriddle01
Not yet (licenses for any extension)

They tried to get that through but got too much flak for it and scrapped it for now.

They will try again
