Hello,

I am installing an IP Office Server Edition with the following topology:

Primary Server Edition (9.0.0.829)
Server Edition Secondary (9.0.0.829)
6 gateways (control Unity) (9.0.300.941)

Server edition running on virtualized environment (VmWare server 5.0)

Avaya provided the ID system based on licenses, however the license status was as "dormant". Was requested for the transfer of Avaya ID licenses but still permits continue with the status "dormant". The manual states that this status relates to lack of license. System status in the following message appears:

Deficiency in upgrading the license version number: 8.

Has anyone encountered this problem? It would even be lack of an upgrade license?

Is it a new server or did you upgrade?
What type of server edition license do you have?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

It is a new server was installed directly on the R9 release. Licences were also generated for the release R9.

It has the following licenses:

IPO R9 3RD PARTY IP Endpt 1 ADI LIC -2
IPO R9 3RD PARTY IP Endpt 10 ADI LIC -1
IPO R9 AV IP Endpt 20 ADI LIC -60
R9 ContactStore ADI IPO LIC -1
R9 IPO LIC FOR ADI -6
R9 IPO LIC SIP TRNK 1 ADI -4
R9 PRO 16 IPO VM ADI LIC -2
IPO R9 VRTULZD SE ADI LIC -3

So you installed the server edition with the OVA ad not the ISO right?
Only the OVA can be used to install it.
Upgrades can be done with the ISO.

The installation was done from the OVA. The IP Office Server is functioning correctly, the problem is that the licenses are in the "dormant".

Which licenses are dormant on which system?

All licenses that are on the primary server are "dormant" licenses E1 trunk control of Unity are ok.

What does monitor show?

Are you sure the IPO R9 VRTULZD SE ADI LIC is valid!?
Licenses > Remote server needs to be 127.0.0.1 on the Pri srvr.

Since it's a virtual server, did you change anything such as server name, IP address or time zone after sending the virtual server system ID to your disti to have the licenses generated? Changing those items on a virtual server after deployment and generating the licenses will invalidate the licenses. If I remember correctly, changing those items puts the system in a 30 day grace period in which you need to have the licenses regenerated.

Just a thought.

Biv, then they will go invalid and not Dormant :)
Dormant is just a license that is not needed anymore.
I see this on our secondairy server for the VMPro licenses which where needed in 8.1 but not on 9.0

I couldn't remember what I read that the licenses would do if you changed those parameters outside of entering the 30 day grace period. Dormant made sense to me late last night as I was waiting for a UC module reimage to complete, figuring the licenses were still there, but in some odd state due to a possible system ID change. I based my assumption off a license showing 'obsolete' when it isn't needed anymore. I can't say I've ever changed any of those parameters on a virtual SE, and can't say I want to try.

You are right, i mean obsolete :)
Dormand means preferred needs essential.
If no essential then the preferred is dormant.
So something is missing.

calazans23, which licenses do you have on the server?

The problem was solved. Reinstalled the IP Office server edition and avaya generated new licenses.

Thank you all for the help.
