Should be easy for you folks. I come from a Novell background so I need a little help understanding a few things.

Right now we have 2 Win2003 DC's in our network. The second is actually for redundancy. However, I'm a little purplexed over licensing. We only have one domain, and 5 member servers. Two servers are SQL and have SQL only authentication. However the rest have a few small apps on them that are ran from the network. I have one DC setup as the license server, however, I think something isn't right. Of course all the member servers are in the domain, do they need licenses, or is that put in the DC? I guess I'm confused with where to put the licenses. Do all go on the DC or do some go on the member server?

Thanks

Well, the Windows licensing service leaves a lot to be desired. Technically, you really do not need to even run that service. Many admins shut it off all together because it is so difficult to manage.

As long as you are licensed on paper and can produce your licensing, that's all that matters. You should have OS licenses for your servers, CALS for the network, and SQL licenses from what I gather from your post.
