I was wondering if anyone knows what would exactly happen to our phone system if our USB License Key got destroyed. On this license key it has:

Voicemail Pro (4 Ports) Unlimited
Additional Voicemail Pro (ports) 4
Compact Business Center 1
eBLF Unlimited

Currently we use IP403 control units and our incoming call menu's are setup using VMPRO on a PC... but if the licensing key got destroyed would VMPRO no longer route any of our incoming calls to the hunt groups... or would our actual voicemail just stop working or both?

When you pull a config, if the keys still say valid, it will continue to work. This will probably be the case until a reboot, in which it will see there is no dongle on the key server.

In the meantime, I would contact your distributor/vendor and talk to them about getting a replacement key. You will have to send a letter to Avaya for approval, but all hope is not lost, yet.

Once the licenses go invalid you will lose connection to the voicemail and it will not route calls or answer anymore. you can restart the services and get it to run for 2 hrs and it will stop again. then restart and get 2 more hours....

you can purchase a new key and have the licenses redone for the new key number by an Avaya business partner, but you have to send the old key back or they will charge the BP (and they in return you) the full amount for the new license, so the only thing you need to pay for is the license key hardware and some admin fee for the BP to get it replaced. If you know that it is on the way out then do it before it goes totally and you are hanging there without licenses.
