licence, FW upgrade

Hi,

i am very new to avaya phone system as i just recently get to administrate office IP500 v2, with 7.0 FW.
my predecesor didn't leave me any documentation to work with so i am on my own trying to figure the system.
and as we dont have any avaya support contract i cant contact them for information.
so first thing i want to know what kind of licence are we using, beacuse in the avaya IP office manager i dont see any licence used, and
if we are eligible to upgrade the system.

Version 7.0 has been updated thru versions 8.0 8.1 and the latest 9.0

No free upgrades anymore

To upgrade to any newer version will require an upgrade licence.

2 licences for each upgrade are available. a sub 32 extension system and a +32 user system

Your system should have licences installed and can be viewed by the Manager program under the Licences tab
 
Hi,

i have double checked and we dont have any license configured in the avaya IP 500v2, but the system is working for more than a year... any ideas?
whats the benefits of upgrading the FW?

do you know where i can find documentation for avaya IP 500v2 FW 7.0?

Are there any problems with the system?
If You have SIP / PRI trunks, or separate server running voicemail, or more than 12 Avaya IP Phones, Your system has licenses! At a minimum, you have the virtual license for R7.
If You do purchase the upgrade license, I advise getting the large license! Even if you have less than 32 users, this will save You headaches in the future, and the cost of buying a large license on top of the small license when You upgrade the system.
