library items

I am designing a new section for a website and am using a library item for the navigation. I realise that it is easy to update each page that uses the library item in Dreamweaver but is it necessary to FTP each page after the library item is updated? As the code is embedded in the page I would have thought that each page needs to be FTPd but maybe there's a shortcut to this?
Any ideas?

You are right. Library items (like templates) will update all releted pages. So when you update you need to upload all of the pages that use it.
This is why we use includes, one change one upload.
