libldap.a

I'm still battling the Samba/AIX 5.2 install. I now need libldap.a, anyone know how acquire it?

have you checked 5.2 extension pack cds? there is an ibm's ldap server/client - maybe you can find the library there...

I loaded IBM's ldap from extension pack cd2, recompiled and still same error. I wonder what the consequences of loading an earlier version of Samba would be?

I don't have a copy of libldap.a on my system...

markus38, after looking at your listing it appears that a call to libldap.a is pointed to /usr/ldap/lib/libibmldap.a. Any ideas how that was accomplished?

Hi,

Do you have the ldap.max_crypto_client.rte installed, as shown in my output...

I suspect the installation of this package did the trick...

Installed ldap.max_crypto_client.rte but still can't get libldap.a to point to /usr/ldap/lib/libibmldap.a... libibmldap.a did install when I installed ldap.max_crypto so that's some progress.

Bon,

Did not mention, but perhaps significant I have configured LDAP to work on this box, with the mksecldap commands. Some good papers on the IBM site by Yantian Tom Lu if this turns out to be the solution.
