Programmer
Hi all I have been involved in the telephone and IT industry since the early 90s, However I have been asked to program a lg gdk-34i phone system, pretty simple 6 digital extentions 4 SLT and 2 ISDN Bra circuits.
The problem is my customer asked the company that put in it almost 15 years ago for the system password, They refused to give it citing that the software and programming on the system is their intellectual property,
The reason the customer moved is because they were moving office and they wanted to move the telephone system, it was terminated on a patch panel so all that was required was to unbolt the system and patch panel from one wall and affix it in the new office and patch out the phones, the network cabling was there, but they were quote 700 euros to do this, which too me about a hour and a half including traveling to complete.
I can default the system and start again or optain the password.
Typically I work on Larger PBX system and networks and there are always password recovery provided you have physical access to the box,
The manual is not that well defined, I see there are 4 switches on the board and in one manual it says switch one is Administration Programming Access but on another manual it is called Admin Protect, I wonder what this switch is for is it to allow access without the pin code, I have tried the 1234 and other combinations but to no avail.
Also I have GDKAdmin am i right to presume that I can connect to the RS232 port on the system directly or do I have to use a modem and optain pin code to connect.
Sorry for all the questions, I typically work on Siemens Hicom, And AXE switches
Regards Ken
