I'm running Windows 2000 Professional on my machine, and the DVD Rom is picked up, but as soon as I try to play any DVD it gives me a problem with the Regional setting. The Regional setting is set at REGION 1 and I am unable to change this. I understand that it should be Region 2. Any help would be appreciated

well where do you live??? if you live in US leave it alone. if you want to play the movie, however, you have to extract the movie and set the movie so that it can be played in all regions. programs such as dvddecypter and smartripper would do this for you in one shot, it would set to all region and put it on your hard drive. this is if you live in the US.

if you live not in the US den you should get a program to set it to region 2. just search for those programs. should be third party. good luck.

Thanx for info. I live in South Africa. My LG dvd-rom has internal regional setting. Is there software that can over ride this.
Regards
Takkie
