HI all,

Long time reader but first poster to these forums. I've got a 24IP here at home and it seems to have lost all configuration after being stored for ages. I've replaced the lithium backup battery.... I've updated the firmware to 3.9EC and have LDKAdmin software connected and working. I've managed to get some basics working, 4 CO lines operating, Stations included in ring groups etc. but I've got a few issues namely, Can't pickup a CO line from an SLT extension, ICM calls pickup and connect without ringing, DTMF keypad tones don't seem to work when incall to AutoAttendant systems.

Long story short as it has been factory defaulted i wondered if anyone had a PSTN based config file they would share that i could have a look at that may help me with some basics! I'm based in australia, referring to the PSTN aspect. I can find a lot of info relating to specific features but as to the basics i'm struggling!

Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers
Tim

Hi Tim

Have u set the Nation code in program 100 to 61 for Australia, u need to make sure that dip switch 8 is on set nation code and then reset system and then turn this off once reset is done and u should then have the nation set as Oz

Hey mate,

I'm also in Australia!

Where randall1uk has mentioned DIP 8, in the 24 it is actually DIP4, and resetting the system with DIP4 up will system reset and wipe the memory of the system.

Do you still need any help with the system? Reply here with what you are struggling with and I'll see what I can do to help you out

Hi 2311angel

Thanks for the offer! Yes i figured thats what randal meant, but i have checked and it is set to australia in PGM100. I note that mine also has a Australia_Telstra nation code, i wonder if this may affect some of the analogue line parameters? I'm having a minor issue with DTMF tones during a call with an automated caller system (auto assistant on the other end) when i press 1 for "sales" for instance, it rarely recognises the input, if i press for a good second or so it will sometimes work. Thoughts?

In a broader sense tho, i have started with a factory default system and am unsure if i have got the basic principles correct. I suspect the issues that i'm having may relate to this, notably they are: can't pickup an outside line from a SLT extension, when i press 9 from a Digital extension it always picks up line 4 first, can't figure out how to change that.

First time PABX setup here! If i can assist in the RF domain as that is where my experience lies, just holler!

Appreciate your assistance!
Cheers

How many lines are you using? If you are not using all 4 lines, disable the unused lines in your system by PGM 141 by assigning the unused lines to CO Group 9. I'm fairly sure the system will always pick up the last line in the group when you press 9.

Your trouble dialing through an auto-attendant on the remote side, sounds like line trouble. You could try using Nation Code *61 for AU_Telstra, but I've not got any idea if that will help or not. I would check first that your cabling is OK first. There are settings for gain in the system, but I'm not sure which way to adjust the numbers to amplify.

Are you getting an access deny tone when dialling 9 from your SLT extension ? If you are, make sure that you have the COS level at 1 for the SLT stations. COS is in PGM 116

On your SLT stations , in station programming assign x2 loop keys to the first two in button programming 115(i think), this will ensure they pick up lines in the correlating group , also check in pgm 110 that the slt stations are set to pulse dial.

Check out this programming manual its pretty comprehensive.

Also from an SLT the direct line access code 8801=L 1 8802 = L 2 etc , you will need the loop keys assigned though.

Pgm 160 is where you can set line selection to round robin or as in your case last line in group.

ACSS (UC/SBCE/SM/SME)

Not that they mean a thing anymore , get a brain dump pass the test crash the system.

Hi 2311angel and montyzummer

Sorry for the delay in posting back, been busy with everyday operations etc.

I've sorted the lines thing by setting unused lines to another group, (Thanks angel) that has helped with the lines pickup, also Monty's comment about round robin or last line pickup mode has allowed me to modify as required. Turns out the problem with picking up a Co from a SLT extension has now vanished. I checked the COS level and it was set to 1, I set the first two programming buttons to x2 loop and it worked! I changed the button programming back to prove that was the fix and it still worked......

I'm still having the auto attendant problem and am going to change country to AU_Telstra, whilst fitting the new card, so I've not looked into this one much more.

I'm going to end up doing a re-program from scratch as the boss is dead keen on getting CLID functional so I have procured a CPCU board and will fit that.

I'm about to fit this card so will post further im sure!

Thanks!

Ok, So slight diversion into CLID was successful and painless (surprisingly) inserted it and defaulted the database so as to recognise the CPCU board. Realised after that, that it doesn't show in modules and doesn't seem to require logical assignment either, bonus. Enabled the CLID function in PGM165 and voila.

At this point got lazy and reloaded the backup database that I had downloaded before installing the CLID card and all was back to normal. Changed the country code to Australia_Telstra and tried auto attendant features and still no joy. Have found a wrinkle tho, pressing a DTMF option whilst online with an auto attendant works when on speaker phone but not when u pickup the handset. Perhaps will need to experiment with line gain levels?

Didn't check the function of the SLT extensions again as the cordless phones attached have been getting very little use since having the digital extensions.
