I have a client with a Dell Dimension stand-alone desktop running XP home. Her Lexmark X85 will print fine from Word, Excel, etc, but will not print from a web page. We reinstalled the latest drivers, tried changing the encoding, still no joy. There is no error message, it just doesn't send anything to the print queue. Tried AOL and Internet Explorer. Even hooked up a cheap little Z-11 Lexmark and it did the same thing. Lexmark tech support was no help - they said the printer is working fine and it's a problem with the settings. Any ideas????

I haven't used a Lexmark; but have seen other printers not print from the Internet when resources are low. This is especially true when cpu memory is 128MB or lower and several Internet windows are open.

Does the printer icon appear in the systray after the print command is given? If the client executes the print command twice, does a dialogue box appear upon reboot, saying that there's a document waiting to be printed? If so, I would look into additional memory for the computer.

The printer icon does not appear in the systray - it looks as though the print job is not being spooled. I don't recall memory off hand, but I know it was at least 256mb. No error message on reboot since nothing is in the print queue.
