Lexmark optra T612 color printing

Hi, I am on a Lexmark optra printer network at work. When i print an internet page it does print in color.

But when i print a jpeg pic, it prints black n white. I am using win2000.I could not find the usual color option check box that comes in printer set up properties.

So I right click on the printer and go in to the properties. There is color management tab with manual and automatic options.
And the printer features in General tab mentions "color: No" but no option anywhere to change this.


Any help appreciated.

uninstall and reinstall the printer driver would be my first choice but the culprit sounds like the program you are opening the picture with to print the Jpeg file. I would open the file with Internet explorer then print it. If that works, and the windows program doesnt, you may have to reload the windows program.

or use anothe program like word, lotus, or corel draw

Ummm... Not to cause problems, but I'm replying because something just didn't seem right to me. I'm certified on all the Lexmark Laser printers, including thi Optra T 612. And my mind told me that there should be no way you are getting color prints out of this, as it's a monochrome laser printer. I double checked on Lexmarks web site for my own sanity, and sure enough, the T612 is a straight black laser printer.

Is there a possibility that it's not the Optra T 612, but perhaps another Lexmark "something" 612? Not that it really matters. How did the reinstall of the drivers go? I will guess that because there has not been any further activity on this post, that all is working correctly as usual.
