I am getting a paper jam 241 warning, but there is no paper stuck.

The top sheet in the paper tray has moved about 5 cm (2 inches) forward when I opened the tray to check what had happened to the paper.

I tried washing the rollers but still no luck, although a concentric plastic cylinder dropped out of the front roller when I removed it and it appears that a concentic spring inside this roller is broken. Could this be the cause. Any of this sound familiar to anyone?

The problem is caused by the roller that fell out. This unit uses the roller to "pickup" and move the paper forward until it is engaged by the position sensor and the paper is tahken by the transfer roller. You need to replace the rollers with a main. kit that should get you back up and running
