length of selected text

hi there... i have an editbox i select a word with the mouse... i have disabled the main vfp menu... i want to copy and paste the selected text to a table... all i have to know its how do i know the number of characters the user select... i know the selstart and sellenght properties.. how i do this????

'sellength' should do it for you.
As in:

nLength = thisform.txtTextBox.SelLength

Better still, use SelText to get the actual characters that have been selected. If you just want to place those characters in a table, you don't need the start point or length of the selection.
