Unable to remote access system thru modem connection. Have swapped out processor with no joy. Could the SmartConnect be preventing connection? Zeacom says no, but I kinda don't believe them.

SmartConnect is a CMS for Legend. It is equal to or better than Definity EAS w/CMS. Only licensed for Legend and Definity under 50 users. Connects to MLX port with access to call control. Avaya and Zeacom parted ways about 2 years ago but lots of them around. I have put them behind Cisco's with a Legend to provide a decent call center with reporting.

OK, I got it.

Smart Connect uses the CTI functionality.

That shouldn't be an issue.

That port, more or less, is just a DUMB OLD MLX set, but this one is smart enough to know EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS in the Legend/Magix and tells the CMS so it can make it's decisions about call flow and stuff.

But again, it's just another MLX port.

So, are you saying you can not log in with SPM through the MODEM?

If you think the CTI is the issue, then disable it temporarily and see if that helps.

I guess these guys are in competion with TASKE, right?

How much do these go for anyway?

I have 1 client that may be interested.

Got it, will have cust busy port and give it a try. If no change, what could be my fault. Get modem tone with no lock up. More about SmartConnect, go to zeacom.com.

Actually, I would probably disable CTI all together, just in case.

It's use was so rare that any "SIDE AFFECTS" were probably never discovered.

I have seen only 1 CTI Link in use since I retired in 2001, and even those guys had pretty much abandoned it.

I will check out that link.
