I have a legend 7.0 with PRI.
I belive that due to many realtors having their extensions forwarded to their cell phones, we're getting complaints of incoming callers getting busy signals.
Is there any way to track this ?
Is another PRI possible ?
Is there a better cost effective solution ?

Thanks.

I will attempt to answer some of your questions.

Yes, a Simple SMDR report can tell you what extensions are dialing and what lines they are using.

Is another PRI possible ?

The Legend can handle a total of 80 Lines. So, depending on the total you have now, and the fact that you can have a grand total of 3 T1 modules, yes, it can be done.

Cost effective ?

Well, I guess that would depend on how much it costs to process calls through your carrier now.

My guess would be that these guys are using the system this way to look like they are ALWAYS in their office.

Cost effictive should be equated with value.

That is, what is it worth to them to always be in the office.

Am I wrong in this assumption?

Thanks for the info, Merlinman.

I'll set up the SMDR to see what's going on.

I'm wondering, rather than add another T-1, can I have a few more standard outgoing trunks that could handle an overflow from the outbound PRI ? Or am I getting too out there ? haha ( they're complaining about expenses because of the turn-down in the market )

I don't know about them appearing 'like they are ALWAYS in their office'.. I think that most of the agents are out in the field and want to be responsive.

"can I have a few more standard outgoing trunks "

Yes, that could work, but you would have to calculate just how busy your current PRI is. Truthfully, that would be hard to do, because you don't know how many calls are not being made when the PRI is busy.

You might also take a look at the ERROR LOG.

Whenever there are trunk overflows or ATBs an entry is made in the ERROR LOG with a date/time stamp and a count value. This may give you some info to figure out when the ATBs are happening.

Hope this helps!

Yes, you will get a "POOL BUISY" entry.

That could be handier than SMDR.
