I installed a 12 channel PRI for a client w/ 100 DID's. Changed the DLC to a QCC because I couldn't get the DLC to accept the PRI channels. Is it possible to have the PRI channels on a DLC - if so how? I must've made a mistake, but I'm not sure what it was. The QCC is giving the receptionist kaniption fits because she can't have a personal mailbox = her extension number, which is the main DID. Thanks in advance!

A PRI is number based instead of [/]line[/i] based

So you just put a multitude of SA buttons on the console, and either renumber it or use the routing table to send the incoming calls to the extension. You wouldn't actually map the channels to buttons.

Thank you for your help - I was trying to map the channels to buttons & see my error. Her extn is 270. Insofar as using the routing table, I already am (at least I think I am - but properly ??) The LEC is sending me 270 as the last 3 digits & it's ringing into her MLX20L. What would I put into the routing table that's not already there? Anything?

I'm not sure if I need to renumber, as her console is already extn 270. From your reply, it sounds as simple as putting (12) SA buttons for 270 on her MLX20L? I thought I could only put (10) SA buttons on a phone & I have 12 channels. Please let me know programming specifics, if any.

the entire reason for the DLC is because of the caveats with the QCC once the call gets inside the system. THANKS!!!

When it was set to dlc, what happened to the call? Where did it go? Or did it get a busy tone?

I didn't get very far with DLC when I implemented the PRI- because I was trying to assign the channels to the buttons. Before the PRI, when the client had just POTS & separate DID trunks, the DLC worked just great. I'm 99% sure the routing is OK. But I thought I HAD to do a QCC when the PRI was implemented. Any suggestions for me? Can I put (12) SA buttons on the MLX20L (extn 270)? Thanks!

You don't really need 12 SA buttons - how many calls does the Operator need to handle at one time? Remember that with 100 DID's a lot of the incoming traffic will be going directly to other extensions, and incoming calls to 270 will eventually be transferred to other extensions or voicemail, freeing up SA buttons.

I might start with 5 or 6 SA buttons and see if they ever are all i use.

You make a really good point ~ one I thought about after I wrote my post. The office is small & they don't use anywhere near the 100 DID block. I think I'll just switch th console back to a DLC & restore sanity ~ the receptionist's and mine. :) They have Merlin Messaging & I've got to make sure it's programmed correctly for delayed call handling. I think I've got it correct, but may need help. First: The console change! Thanks for your help!!

DLC or QCC...it doesn't matter. YOU CAN NOT MAP PRI channels to individual buttons.

Well, yes you can.

But you won't ever get the button to ring. Oh it will blink alright, but it won't ring. PRI isn't a "digital version of POTS lines" so it can't really be configured as such. Same with a "straight" T1.

The truth is that some systems DO allow this, but the Magix does not. Does that help answer your question?
