ANyone got any idea why a console would lose the ability to dial out on outside lines but still be able to dial internal extensions? No programming has been done. I have not tried resetting the system yet. This is a new client for me and I am about to find out what can of worms I am openning.

Also, there is an extension that, after an all page, starts making a buzzing/static noise until you pick the set up and hang back up. I am guessing the port. Any ideas?

Thanks.
(1st time programming a Legend, but don't tell my customer!)

I would disconnect the operator phone at the phone - wait 30 seconds - and then reconnect it. Then test each line for dialtone. If no dialtone - check for dialtone with a butt set or single-line phone at the system (unless these are digital lines via a T1).

As for the phone with the buzzing - sounds like a hung-up speaker - after a voice intercom call. I would replace the phone.

I do have WinSPM V8 on my laptop. Last night I cruised the forum to find the default password. Got it. I also found the pinoutsfor a 355A/355AF. I will make one here shortly and access the system. The phone system works fine and the other users can access dial tone and dial in and out and their DID's work just fine. But for some reason, only the attendant lost the ability to dial on outside lines. My first inclination is the programming to her set is corrupted. I was planning on resetting her phone and if that did not work, resetting the system.

Is there a feature code at a set that you can dial for the set to show you its extension number?

press feature 00 - and the display on the phone's top line will give the ext#. Then press home to exit feature mode.

The console issue was a programming problem. The station had "Forced Account Code" checked. I unchecked it and all is good. I replaced the set making the noise on the paging and that cleared it up. Win SPM worked great. I like using both formats (Quick Access and Standard SPM. I have a little reading to do to change the operators. I tried to add an operator and I ended up resetting the switch. Learning curves... what can I say..

Thanks for the note on the Feature 00.

I have another question, is there a way to point a DID to the internal modem? The customer has a large bank of unused DID's and this would be helpful.
