Is there a way to terminate calls instead of sending them to the call answer service operator?
The factory has the operator sending to 768, this rings back to the first operators extention. However, we have no actual physical operator. It then rings forever and ties up that incoming line.
I set the call answer operator for a real extention on our system with a mailbox, this just so the call would have a place to eventually terminate.
Or course this extention handles hangups at voicemail pickup, dail 0,and transferrs to invalid extentions.

Thanks in advance!

If you are talking about the "Dial-0/Timeout" option from the Auto Attendant in a Merlin Messaging or Merlin Mail, then yes, you can set it to disconnect. Merlin Messaging, just treat 0 as any other selector code, for Merlin Mail, after dialing *# at the selector code prompt, you get the dial-0/timeout setting.

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately I am not fully understanding what you are describing. From what I do understand about selector codes there are only options from 1 to 9, So how would I tell 0 to timeout? Assuming this is a Universal setting for dialing 0, 768, and hangups.
Also you have mentioned after dialing *# at the selector code prompt, you get the dial-0/timeout setting. Where exactly is this?

TIA

What type of voice mail are you using.Merlin Mail, Merlin Messaging, Audix.......?

The system is a Legend 7 with a 406 card with 2 incoming lines. 6 extensions in use. a 012 ring gen card with 2 cords from that running to a Merlin mail external VM.(Its a 386/40 cpu in reality) The VM is a 2 port variety set up as port 18-19. We use the MLX20(operator) phone to program the main system. Most VM functions done by tone prompt.
The confusing part is the Merlin mail needs these command done by tone entry while listening to voice choices. Extension, line, ect are done with the on screen MLX20.
Thanks in adavance

Can anyone tell me if Win SPM would make this any easier to program?
Where would I buy a copy if so...
Thanks again

SPM is only used for programming the phone system not the voice mail.
