I have the following system: Network 7.11 on a W2k server, Quantum DX100 virtual ATL and a PX720 physical ATL.

I would like to stage save sets from tape (DX100) to tape (PX720). Does anyone have a good method (script) that I could use?

Not a script but a frame:
- usen mminfo to find all save sets residing on the DX100 volume(s)
- use nsrstage to move them to another pool.

I would like to automate this process to run daily, as the quanity of saveset is very large. Do you have a script that can perform this process?

Supposing the DX100 volume are in POOL1 and the destination pool is POOL2, the script could be:

mminfo -q "pool=POOL1,savetime>yesterday" -r ssid >file.txt
nsrstage -b POOL2 -m -f file.txt

How about just creating staging policy and use built in funtionality in networker to stage from disk to tape, or useing cloning ?

This would be the best but also needs a backup-to-disk license.

The DX100 is a virtual tape library (it looks like a DLT ATL - tape). Networker doesn’t support staging from tape to tape via GUI. So the script is in the email string is what I had in mind.
