Does anyone know how to generate tape usage statistics for NW? I'm looking for info on the amount of data backed up and restored for monthly reports to mgt. I haven't seen how to make mminfo show restore metrics, but I can pull save set data out which varies from what nwadmin shows on screen.
I'd love to automate this.

yes I'm NW newb...

Hi,
I don't know if you are finding a free reporting software or not. However there is a new software or better a new suite. Its name is SMART SUITE and it is commercialized by Terasystem S.p.a. . For more information see

(where there is yet the old version, the new version is completely different).

Thanks for the suggestion, however I am without budget for this exercise. I was thinking more along the lines of using
mminfo or nsradmin to generate ad hoc reports.

try this for a basic report:

$ mminfo -X -t 08/05/03

That has helped me out alot in the past.

This info is available in nsradmin :

nsradmin> show recover totals
nsradmin> print type:nsr
recover totals: "9 session(s), 4095 MB total";
