Hi all

I am looking to implement ndmp to backup a Celerra NS20 on Networker 7.3.2.

Config is
Jukebox library
4 LTO2 Drives

Can you advise what would be the best configuration to achieve this i have the library connected to the networker server and will present the jukebox and drives to the celerra through the fibre channel san can i define or dedicate one or two drives as NDMP for the celerra as we need to backup around 10tb. I still require the networker server to backup windows clients over the network.

I would rather not go with DDS if this is possible.

Thanks in advance

Of course you can split your drives on different nodes - no problem since NW 6.1. Just answer the questions carefully during the installation.

Another method is to use the Data Service Agent which converts the NDMP data into a 'normal' save stream. This has a lot of advantages. If your network connection is fast enough, i would recommend this solution.

Thanks for the info

Can you clarify if i rerun jbconfig after deleting the existing library and drives i can assign the library and two of the drives to the networker server and then define two of the drives as ndmp drives to the celerra.

Also can you provide more detail on the Data service Agent and how it works.

Thanks

Sure - just answer jbconfig's questions properly.

You better go here an download this file:
ftp://ftp.legato.com/pub/NetWorker/German/tdocs/archive/nw_cookbook_jan_2007.pdf

It contains and awful lot of information. Goto page 1060.
