Hi

Whenever legato selects a volume which is set to recyclable it us unable to relabel the tape automatically and comes up with duplicate volume name please remove the original volume and retry the operation.

We have the jukebox set to auto Media Management

Any ideas

This is usually a symptom the the tape that it is trying to relabel does not exactly match what is recorded in the media database.

When a volume is selected for relabeling, it is loaded into the drive, and the label in that tape is first read and compared against what is recorded in the NetWorker media database. The information that is verified is volume name, volume id, and pool. if the volume id and/or pool does not match, then NetWorker reports the "Duplicate name, pick new one or delete old one"...

There are a few scenerios why this could occur, but suffice to say what NetWorker thinks that is in that volume may not really be the case, and you need to verify whether the data on that volume is relevat.

If it is not, then simply run: nsrmm -d -v (volume name)

After this is done, then NetWorker can label that volume.

Also if there is hanging nsrmm processes this may happen. Those processes "lock" media database somehow and old volume records cannot be deleted from media database. Have you tried to relabel those volumes manually or remove them from indexes and media database?
