Hi,

I have Legato 6.1.1 installed in cluster (TRU64 Unix 5.1B), but I have several clients giving the following error :

"cannot request command execution" "permission denied" error.

I have all the clients with the virtual cluster name in the servers file. But in some clients I got this error complaining that the physical cluster member hostname doen´st have permissions, why is this happening for this NT clients ?? I should work with the virtual hostname right ?

Another funny thing is that each time I relocate the Legato service from one node to another the hostid change and I have to reapply the licenses manualy huhg...

Many Thanks in advance,
Célia Correia

I cannot really answer the first question but to be sure why don't you add the physical node names as well.

Concerning the licenses:
- Create a file /nsr/res/hostids
- Add all host ids in a line like
host_id1:host_id2:host_id3 and so on
- save the file and restart NW

The outcome is a 'virtual host id' which you have to register.
This should solve your problem.

Hi,

I tested and the result of the hostid was a 'virtual host id' as you said but if I relocate de Legato Service to another custer member the hostid changes to the physical hostid of that host member.

So the problem remains. Is there something missing ?

Thanks,
Célia Correia

I do not understand:
- of course the physical hostid has to change.
- If you mean that the NW hostid changes to the physical
hostid (i think this is your concern), i guess that the
other cluster member, for whatever reason, does not
read the hostids file.

The second issue looks strange as, to my knowledge, you only install
NW on a Tru64 cluster once - on a shared disk. However, from here
i can not tell you why the second node obviously does not read that file.

In Tru64 5.1B PK3 is a Bug implemented who can be fixed with a patchfix from hp.

Ask your Support by HP for the url.

kind regards
