Hello,

I have a user who doesn't want, or really need, a regular AVAYA phone. He just has his cell phone, so I have him set up to be unconditionally forwarded.

If he receives a direct external call to his cell without picking up, it goes to his voicemail.
If he recieves a direct internal call to his cell without picking up, it also goes to his voicemail.
The problem lies here: If someone calls into our office, and then is TRANSFERRED to his cell phone, it rings forever. It will never go to voicemail (we tested up until his phone received 7 consecutive missed calls in a row, while my line stayed completely up... just ringing and ringing)

We're using IP Office with VM Lite. Any suggestions?
They'd be much appreciated. Thanks!

Oh, also, his voicemail is turned off in the Phone Manager... He only wants to use the voicemail associated with his cell phone. Thanks!

What's his No Answer time? Try setting it to 90 secs.

There was a problems with earlier releases that the IPO took back the call after the no answer time and tried to send it to voicemail. If this was not activated it called out to the cell again.

Janni78 is right. Depending upon the release it could be an issue. You could transfer the call, wait until either he answers (and announce the call) or his voicemail answers and then hang-up (or press transfer again to complete the transfer). That would cure the issue, but a liitle tedious for the people doing the transfering.
