hey guys -

we here in philadelphia are under a federal investigation for our mayor's actions.

i'm moving my people over to our new exchange 2003 server; but we talked about keeping a copy of their mailbox on our old exchange 5.5 server.

is there a way, when you do the "move mailbox" operation to put the user on the new server, to have a copy of their mailbox left on the old exchange server that it is being moved from?

The only way that you can keep the copy on there is to use the migration wizard instead of moving it in the exchange tasks. The migration wizard will make a copy of it and once you've verified that it's okay you go back and delete the mailbox on EXC5.5 or just rename it. I've done it on 625 mailboxes and it's worked like a champ on everyone.

thanx for your response, guy

but the migration wizard isn't working for us, since our exchange 2003 box is in the same organization that the 5.5 is.

i guess i'll just haveta keep the backup tapes.

thanx tho!
