Hi All

We have a few Megastream Leased Lines in place connected to Cisco 1721 routers using a Wic1t to the X21 presentation, but we are just in the process of putting in a new leased line and BT have informed me that it can't be presented on x21 and it will be presented on either coax(75) or an RJ45 connector(120)from the nte . How can I go from either of these presentations to the cisco router and what Interface card will I need.

Thanks in advance

what kind of leased line is it?
usually coax is ds3, and the rj45 is ethernet..
i would expect a rj48 for a t1..
depending on what the service is will determine which wic/nm that you will need.

Might be a G703 E1 access circuit if its in the uk. The DS3 is a type-21 connection rather than coax, but very similar. G703 is usually presented as an RJ45 socket, which if you take the face plate off has dual coax coming in the back and converted. If it comes in as dual coax you could find yourself needing a G703/X21 convertor, which is not cheap.

Thanks for your responses

Its presented on a UK ASDH NTE 4u(fibre), marked up for each u is the "X21" which BT say it can't be connected on, "120" which looks like an RJ45 and a "75" which is a coax connection. BT say I can use either the 75 or the 120. I think the 75 and the 120 are G703 presentation they say that the B end can be connected up on "X21" so at least thats easy.
