I will be the first to say that I'm not the fastest learner when it comes to VB 6.0. So let me pose this question. There are one billion books and cd's that teach you VB 6.0, yet with your expertise I would like to open a can of worms. What do you recommend be the easiest most favorable reading material and/or cd-rom tutorials that I can use in getting up-to-speed in learning VB 6.0.. I would rather go with the cd's as I admit I don't enjoy reading, however, pending the nature of the book I could try. Any ideas?

Depends. What's your level of knowledge at the moment?

Ed Metcalfe.

In reply, I have tinkered with VB at work and basically worked in cleaning up forms, modifying properties, etc.. But what I want to understand is the difference between ADO, DAO, ActiveX.DLL, ActiveX.exe, how to contact to databases, why do we use modules, classes, etc...

SAMMS Teach Yourself VB in 24 hours is pretty good. Comes with all the software you need too.

I am using Visual Basic 6 Black Book as a beginner, even though it is rated intermediate, it is very well written and explains everything rather than just giving code examples to make themselves look smart.

Here is a link to it.

Hope this helps you, I know it is helping me!
