I have MS Access 2000 and in my form I want to show the leading zeros in my text box. I've read this old thread:
thread702-1441155 which is similar but I only have 4 digits to worry about...such as 0123 0875 0046 etc etc
How do I get these zeros back in? Do I need to build an event such as this other thread? Do I just go to the Properties Format? Right now I have the format set as General Number.
I tried building an event like this:
format(MyField), "0000")
I'm sure this is incorrect.
Any help would be appreciated.
But while we're on the subject of numbers....
I posted a thread awhile back with no answers. I was able to create a hyperlink to websites in this same form and the hyperlinks work however they display such as 00000/00000.0000 etc etc Lots of zeros. Can't figure out why. Where it says how to display is correct such as but viewing them in the form is weird. I wasn't too concerned since the links work but it's distracting.
Thank you again for any help.

Thanks...I'll check this after lunch......

My properties all seem okay. There is nothing in the format. However there is an event procedure, After Update saying just that...an after update. I took that out and still the same results. I checked the hyperlink address with the # signs etc and the display as well is all correct.
Keep in mind I also had created another database similar yet separate. Those hyperlinks display just fine. I'm looking for differences between the two databases and so far have found none.

I have to say I am at a lost on that one. I would play with it until I found it but some more expeditious things to try... You might try deleteing the control and re-adding it or import the form from the similar database and modify it as necessary and use it.

Thanks. The only differences I found between the databases was "enter key behavior"..one was at "new line in field" and the other was at "default".
The tab indexes were different too but don't think that effects this.
And of course the After Update event procedure was different and I already tried that.
Really weird and I haven't found any answer from any forums.
Thanks for sticking it out with me today.

UPDATE....What a stupid yet simple solution. Amazing I couldn't find the answer to this ANYWHERE!!
Folks if you have this problem check your font. Mine was set to "Mangal". I changed it to Arial and boom it's fixed.
Go figure.
I sure hope this helps someone else in need.
Thanks for all your help.
