Hi,

I am recovering a LDK100 (2 rack) system that has an annoying fault where it randomly places calls between STAs and VMIB locations. For no reason an extension just starts ringing or a VMIB message waiting indication appears (without content). This system has worked OK for many years, until recently.

I think I have tracked it to a faulty MPB card and I have borrowed a replacement. The original is an MPBN (ver 1.5) with AMSU2N and the replacement is an MPBSN (ver 1.4) with AMSU1N. I have swapped the AMSU2N from the original onto the replacement but the second cabinet won't initialise.

So I would like to ask:

1. Is an MPBSN compatible with dual cabinet system?
2. Is an MPBSN compatible with AMSU2N?
I know the MPBS cannot be used with 2 cabinets but this is an MPBSN, so ??????

3. Should I set SW3 #8 to clear the database and then upload the system data again?
The MPBSN + AMSU1N came from a single cabinet system so does it need to be re-initialised on 2 rack system or just change the AMSU1N to AMSU2N? Since I only have one AMSU2N will this be affected by the SW3 #8 initialise or is only the MPB affected?

4. If I re-initialise the database (SW3 #8 on) will it erase the VMIB greetings?
There are a lot of custom recorded greetings for Auto_Attendent and UCD, some can't be replaced easily.

Thanks in advance.
Dave

the MPBSN is a single node board SN and can only support the single cab.

APSS (SME)
ACSS (SME)
ACIS (UC)

Thanks for that. I just got a MPBN and another AMSU2. So far so good.

Hallo there.

I found some answers to your quesetions.

1. Is an MPBSN compatible with dual cabinet system?
-> No, only for one cabinet, as written.

2. Is an MPBSN compatible with AMSU2N?
->No. See detailed description below.

I know the MPBS cannot be used with 2 cabinets but this is an MPBSN, so ??????
-> See #1.

Originally the MPB for ipLDK-100 came with 4 daughter boards (piggy back):

++++
MPB group.
MPB the first version had 4 daughter boards (piggy back):
PMU1 standard daughter board for one cabinet w/o licenses for Voice over IP-VOIM/VOIB.
PMU2 standard daughter board for two cabinets w/o licenses for Voice over IP-VOIM/VOIB
ASMU1 adv. daughter board for one cabinet with licenses for Voice over IP-VOIM/VOIB.
ASMU2 adv. daughter board for two cabinets with licenses for Voice over IP-VOIM/VOIB.
PMU can only be used to s/w version 2.2 Ia.
+++++
Then came the MPBE - MPBE group.
MPBE the second version had 4 daughter boards (piggy back):
PMU1E standard daughter board for one cabinet w/o licenses for Voice over IP-VOIM/VOIB
PMU2E standard daughter board for two cabinets w/o license for Voice over IP-VOIM/VOIB
ASMU1E adv. daughter board for one cabinet with licenses for Voice over IP-VOIM/VOIB.
ASMU2E adv. daughter board for two cabinets with licenses for Voice over IP-VOIM/VOIB.
+++++
Then came the MPBN - MPBN group.
MPBN the third version had 2 daughter boards (piggy back):
ASMU1N adv. daughter board for one cabinet with licenses for Voice over IP-VOIM/VOIB.
ASMU2N adv. daughter board for two cabinets with licenses for Voice over IP-VOIM/VOIB.
S/w level - at least 3.6
+++

The MPB and related daughter boards only work together, and you cannot use boards from other groups.
I.e. MPBE and ASMU2N - this will not work.

To your other questions:

#A3
Since the MPB's use the same database you shoul be able to take a backup form one system, and upload on to a new MPB(N).
Notice the software level restrictions.
If you get an MPB with ASMU2 or MPBE with ASMU2E, the data base from your MPBN/ASMU2N, should just be uploaded.

4. If I re-initialise the database (SW3 #8 on) will it erase the VMIB greetings?
There are a lot of custom recorded greetings for Auto_Attendent and UCD, some can't be replaced easily.

#A4
Your greetings are loaded to the VMIB, and will no be lost.
However the necessary programming must be done in the ipLDK-100 (e.g. from backup).

Let me know if you need more answers...
